As part of its efforts to strengthen academic and institutional cooperation, the Captain Fareed Foundation for Space and Aviation Sciences was honored today to sign a cooperation agreement with the College of Law at Al-Mashreq University.

The agreement was signed at the office of the University President, Professor Dr. Abduljabbar Abdulqader Mukhlis. Representing the university, the agreement was signed by the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Saddam Al-Muhammadi.

The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, contributing to the development of academic, scientific, and community-oriented initiatives between the two institutions.

Mr. Alaa Al-Mandalawi, Advisor to the Al-Asas Iraqi Coalition, honoured Mr. Fareed Lefta, President of the Captain Fareed Foundation for Space and Aviation Sciences, with the “Creativity Shield – Iraqi Parliament” in recognition of his outstanding efforts and active contributions to advancing space science and aviation programmes and projects.

Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: “Everything that is expected will come to pass.”

With the help of Allah, after tireless effort and with great dreams and ambition, we have completed the construction of a Soyuz space rocket model, measuring 5.25 metres in length and 0.5 metres in diameter.

This achievement was made possible through the determination, imagination and creativity of our young team:

• Ezz Al-Din Al-Jawhar
• Sally Salam
• Wissam Imran
• Hussam Mahdi
• Rasool

Our ambition is for this model to one day become a real rocket, through the determination of our youth and the ingenuity of our female and male engineers. I can almost see that future approaching.

Great dreams begin with those who believe in them and remain patient on the path toward achieving them.

Iraq is a great country and deserves to have a peaceful space and rocket programme for civilian and scientific purposes.

May the efforts of our young people be blessed. I sincerely hope that those who dream will receive the support and guidance needed to turn their ambitions into even greater achievements worthy of the history and greatness of Iraq.

Scientific and Artistic Workshop on Satellite Design, Orbits, and Applications Concludes Successfully

The scientific and artistic workshop on satellite technology, titled “Satellite: Design, Orbits, and Applications”, concluded yesterday at the headquarters of the Captain Fareed Foundation for Space and Aviation Sciences.

The workshop explored key concepts related to satellite design, orbital systems, and their practical applications, bringing together specialists, academics, engineers, and participants interested in space science and technology.

New Achievement: Soyuz Space Rocket Model Successfully Completed

Our team has successfully completed the construction of a Soyuz space rocket model, transforming simple materials into an inspiring project through determination, creativity, and teamwork.

The model was built over the course of two days under the supervision of the talented artist Izz Al-Din Jawhar, with the valuable participation of Hussam, Wissam, Basma, and Engineer Saif.

This hands-on project combined creativity, engineering, and space science, providing participants with an enjoyable and educational experience while demonstrating what can be achieved through collaboration and imagination.

NGO Department participates in ceremony of launching first civil society organization concerned with space research and artificial intelligence

The Non-Governmental Organizations Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers participated in the ceremony of opening the first civil society organization concerned with space research and artificial intelligence, as part of its endeavor to revitalize the academic sector and advance society according to scientific foundations.

In his speech during the launching ceremony of the Captain Fareed Foundation for Space Development and Research, the Director General of the NGO Department, Mr. Ashraf Al-Dahan, affirmed the Prime Minister’s government’s support for innovation and capacity building. He pointed out that his department seeks to benefit from successful experiences in the field of space, digital education, and artificial intelligence, aligning that with the needs of the labor market, and supporting ideas that add value to the national economy.

Al-Dahan called on those in charge of the institution to support those with creative minds and play the right role in entrepreneurship and building expertise.
